Tequila |
The main crop in the mountains between Tepic and Guadalajara is the blue agave, a relative of the pineapple from which tequila is made. |
The tequila is made from the juices of the fruit which grows in the centre of the agave shown above. |
Having cycled past miles of agave plantations, we thought we should take a look at how Tequila is made on a factory tour at the town of Tequila. |
This included lots of free samples. Unfortunately it was only 10am and we had to continue cycling to Guadalajara afterwards. Vowed never to drink and ride again. |
