Around Mexico City
Teotihuacan is an ancient city north of Mexico City which flourished between 100 BC and 600 AD.  Its inhabitants commanded an empire which stretched as far a present day Guatemala.
Wooden temples would have sat on top of these pyramids where ceremonies were performed and sacrifices made to the gods.
It's quite hard work climbing these in the hot sun (it must use different muscles to cycling!)
Taxco is an old silver mining town, now a World Heritage Site.  The town is built on a steep mountainside with narrow, windy streets and white painted buildings.  The silver mines are now closed but silvercraft workshops remain and goods are exported from here around the world.
View of Taxco from a roof top bar.
Colourful streets in Puebla.
