Crops
Maize is an important crop as is soya. Although it was not soya season we heard that most of the world's soya is produced here.
Sometimes, a single field is so large that it stretches as far as the eye can see in all directions.
We were interested in the cotton harvest; the harvesters seem to gently brush the cotton from the plant leaving the stalks and branches neatly behind.

The ‘Michelin’ sign by this plantation seemed odd until we saw the rows of buckets and realised we were cycling past a rubber plantation.
The rubber drips from spiral cuts in the tree’s bark and is collected in these buckets. It is the consistency of glue.
